Clinicians see many skin conditions in the primary care setting. Family physician, Charles P. Vega, MD, spoke with dermatologist, Temitayo A. Ogunleye, MD, to discuss how best to diagnose and manage dermatology-related symptoms in primary care. This consultation is the fifth in a series addressing these common concerns.

Charles P. Vega, MD: Hello. I'm Chuck Vega, clinical professor of family medicine at the University of California at Irvine. Welcome to Critical Issues in Dermatology. Once again, I am delighted to be joined by Dr Tayo Ogunleye, an assistant professor of clinical dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

Vega: Nail disorders, in addition to being bothersome for patients, can be an important window into chronic illness or severe disease. But they are sometimes forgotten. We will use a quiz format to challenge our audience and ourselves. First, we will review four images of different nail disorders to find the one that shows a dangerous lesion.
